Crash Ball is a game mode in Crash of Cars.

Gameplay

Location

This game mode is exclusive to the Stadium Map.

Requirements

If possible, Crash Ball mode will start in 30 seconds, provided if at least 3 players collected the flags on the side of the soccer field or if at least one flag of each color is collected. Vehicles will be assigned random teams if they do not pick a flag.

If started via a Private Match, it is possible for players to manually add bots and/or assign teams.

Mechanics

• When the game starts, all players are teleported into the soccer field and divided into the Blue Team and the Red Team.
  • Both sides will became immune to damage during the match. Power-Ups collected prior to the game will still function, but some effects will not occur. Invincibility persists until a few seconds after the match ends, and for the entire duration all damage-based effects will not occur.
    • The Freeze Cannon can still disable vehicles.
    • Landmines will knock hostile vehicles back.
    • Blackhole drags vehicles normally, but does not affect the football.
  • Abilities from certain vehicles (Plasma Bike, War Machine, etc) cannot be used during Crash Ball.

• To score a point, the football must enter the goal. When this happens, the opponents of the goal's corresponding team gains a point, while the ball and all vehicles are reset to their start locations shortly after.
  • The ball can be attached to a vehicle similar to a power-up, overriding the currently inactive one if possible, and applies a significant speed penalty. A football icon is placed over where the activation command should be and can be used to launch the football forwards for a short duration. These effects are only active when the football is on the vehicle.
  • The football can be detached by the following methods:
    • Manually Launched
    • Going out of bounds.
      • When this occurs the game will display a line of text indicating this, and after a few seconds it is re-placed back in to the arena. It cannot be interacted with directly during this period, though it is still subject to normal physics.
    • A goal is scored.
    • Match ends.
  • The ball can be knocked off by collisions from rival vehicles.

• At the end of the match, the team with the most points wins.
  • If both teams had the same amount of points when the timer hits zero, a 30 second sudden death period begins. During this time, any goal will instantly end the match and score a victory for that team. Otherwise, the match ends in a draw.

Rewards

30 shielded crowns spawn, which can be collected only by the winning side. No rewards are spawned if a draw happens. They can be collected by a losing side's player when it picks up the flag of the winning side, but only if the match starts again.

Crash Ball can be activated again once every single shielded crown is collected, or if they despawn.

Trivia

• Crash Ball is a reference to Rocket League, another football game themed around vehicular participants.
• Bots exhibit different behavior in Crash Ball.
• Crash Ball is not playable in Skirmish Maps for obvious reasons.
• During the match, player are able to collect crowns dropped from destroyed cars before the match started. however, extra crowns will not be spawned during the match.
• After Crash Ball World Cup ended, this game mode has been added to private matches.
• The mode's music is a remix of the Duel minigame's music in Castle.

Bugs and Glitches

• Shortly after the Blitz Mode Update, Crash Ball is no longer playable in Crown Mode due to a glitch that prevented flags from appearing.
  • This bug was quickly patched in a hotfix.
