The Galaxy is a LEGENDARY vehicle in Crash of Cars.
Detesting velocity is one thing while countering it would be 2.
Description[]
TBA
Special Properties[]
Galaxy releases a drone which fires beams at up to 2 targets in close proximity. The beams reduces the target's top speed severely and cause damage over time at a similar rate to Trailblaze' flame trail to those unprotected. If the target is out of range, all effects end.
The drone can be active for 7 seconds, followed by a 10-second cooldown.
Strategies[]
Galaxy is an incredible vehicle, boasting a dangerous ability and good stats to begin with. It is surprisingly versatile for a legendary vehicle and earns its spot in competitive play easily, as its high mobility alone can keep it out of trouble. It diverges further through its ability's wide range of applications. Hitting two targets coming from any direction, Galaxy has no problem with deterring small numbers of attackers and may deter them fully as soon as it enters play, thanks to its duration and DPS that ensures targets will hardly if ever escape when it starts targeting them. This combination is deadly against vehicles with high speed but low health, as it effectively removes their only advantage and then tears them down even without further intervention, making them much more vulnerable to both Galaxy itself and other vehicles attacking them. In extreme cases, it can be used to conveniently snipe enemy vehicles in a pursuit, defeating them with minimal effort. By extension, this also shuts down many common power-ups and damage sources, as Galaxy's high speed and the slow effect allows it stay out of their range, and the few that could often come down to hitting it by mere chance. Even in the case of protected vehicles that are immune to damage, Galaxy still has a point in its favor, as the slow effect continues to delay them and can potentially cause damage if such effects wear off early.
Though annoying and powerful in the right hands, Galaxy does have several problems that hinder its utility. As a 5-health vehicle it has an excessively wide hit-box and very low mass, so when it gets hit, it may not recover as easily. While it denies the use of melee approaches, the likes of Railgun and Missile Strike can hit it from afar with equally extreme impact, and since it doesn't stop projectiles, a mere speed penalty is woefully insufficient to offset enemy aim. Considering Galaxy's ability range is quite short, this often turns lethal in CQC as potential targets can merely attack from further away or pick it off. Speed penalties also have its cons, with slower vehicles being less affected, and as with all others, Galaxy does not directly deny many other means of destruction, giving them the advantage instead unless Galaxy attacks in advance. Finally, one should take note of its cooldown, while not lengthy, can still leave it vulnerable at times, especially since it functions without player intervention, which means while it won't be misfired and can be a lifesaver, it cannot be selectively used against priority targets, instead running the risk of wearing off when it's needed the most.
It can be safely said Galaxy is a great choice for nearly any situation due to its combination of various attributes. Though it differs from the more agile vehicles with its ability and slightly weaker performance, it can be used just as aggressively, and defends itself reasonably well.

Trivia[]
- The Galaxy is possibly based on two vehicles:
- The cockpit might be adapted from the Eta-2 Actis-class interceptor piloted by Anakin Skywalker from Star Wars: The Clone Wars.
- The drone resembles the R2-D2, a character commonly featured in the Star Wars franchise.
- The main fuselage is similar to Vic Viper from Gradius.
- The cockpit might be adapted from the Eta-2 Actis-class interceptor piloted by Anakin Skywalker from Star Wars: The Clone Wars.
- Its ability might be a reference to the tractor beam from the Star Wars franchise. It was a projected force field that manipulated gravitational forces to push or pull objects.
- The sound effect when the drone returns to the ship after its ability expires is similar to the one heard when the UFO gets its tires back in Lounge.
- Assets from the Plasma Bike's trails are reused for Galaxy's ability beams.
Bugs and Glitches[]
- The Galaxy cannot damage enemies with Spikes via contact at close range while its ability is active. This is fixed in a patch for the 2020 Frozen Vale Update.
Changes in Updates[]
- Galaxy was added in the 2020 Frozen Vale Update.
- It also appeared on the update's loading screen along with Festive Sleigh.
- After the Skygarden Update, Galaxy can be obtained from Prize Machines.
- After the 2023 Jungle Update, Galaxy's ability duration is increased from 5 second to 7 seconds, and does damage to targeted vehicles equivalent to roughly Trailblaze's DPS.
