Team Deathmatch (abbreviated as TDM) is a limited time game mode in Crash of Cars.

Gameplay[]

Location[]

TDM cycles on available maps every four hours and may choose from any. It can be accessed from the "Change Map" button's "Special" Tab. Such maps are indicated by a red-blue colored wheel and the letters "TDM". Once the player joins, they would be in the middle of a heated battle, or warm-up.

It can also be chosen as a private match game mode.

General Mechanics[]

  • All maps feature healing stations, similar to Hypergrid.
    • The specified map itself also has more healing stations than usual.
  • Most damage-based effects no longer occurs to allies. However, the following can still occur:
    • Oil paralysis.
    • Plasma Trail will still damage allies.
    • Shield modifiers that increases knock-back or stuns.
    • Vampire can steal health from allies (they don't take damage) and will lose health even during the invincibility period.
    • Spikes, War Machine, Battering Ram can still knock back allied vehicles.
      • Mechamorph technically also does affect allies, but it cannot transform in TDM.
    • Shadow still disables allied shields and can damage them.
      • This includes Rumbler's Super Boost.
      • This glitch was patched in the CTF update.
    • Most projectiles can be blocked by allies, doing no damage.
      • However, non-projectile attacks such as Vulcan and Citadel's abilities are generally not affected and will ignore allies.
    • Energy Car can heal from allied railguns.
    • Freeze Cannon can disable allies, potentially allowing opponents to instantly destroy them.
      • Screwdriver will still spawn extra snowballs upon hitting them with the power-up.
    • Certain instant-kill effects such as Supernova's Ability and Teleport do not destroy allied vehicles, but this will still push them around.
    • Bomb Bot and Forklift can trigger their abilities upon an allied collision.
    • Black Hole still drags allied projectiles as well as vehicles and will gain strength upon doing so.
    • Landmines may be bugged and appear hostile to all players, although they do not damage allies and merely knocks them back.
      • Minesweeper ignores allied Landmines while Bomb Bot can still take them.
  • Respawning occurs after 5 seconds when a vehicle is destroyed, and only restores all health, ignoring armor.
    • However, certain abilities can also activate upon respawn, such as Forklift and RC Van.
  • Destroying enemy vehicles adds points to the attacking team's counter. Each vehicle also holds its own kill counter.
    • Killing an ally (Environment, Plasma Bike, etc) will not add points.

In-Game Mechanics[]

  • Warm-up: At this stage, gameplay functions like Deathmatch in Private Matches. Vehicles can damage each other and will respawn 5 seconds later if they are destroyed. The player can choose teams. Two arrows, one red one blue, will indicate the location of team flags respective to the color. Just like in crash ball, taking a flag will register you at the team, although you can also regret the choice and go to another team instead. Warm-Up ends once everyone has picked up all flags or the time limit expires. In the latter case, the game will randomly assign teams if you didn't chose one already.
  • TDM: After a three second countdown (during which the vehicles are teleported to their start position, near their allies), the match begins, refilling any armor and health lost during the warmup stage and removing any obtained power-ups, unless they are already in use. Lasting for 3 minutes (or up to 20 in private matches), a team wins if they get the most kills, but it can also end in a draw. Once started, the blips and names around the names of the players will be surrounded by team-colored outlines. A number on a vehicle represents the amount of kills it has obtained while the team counter is displayed on top, only removed during the last 10 seconds of the game.
  • Once the match ends, all vehicles self-destruct and a scoring screen is shown, specifying kills and deaths on each vehicle.

Rewards[]

Rewards are only given outside of Private Matches.

  • You will be asked to claim your reward, which scales on your total participation time - The later you are the less coins you get. A win bonus is added to the victorious team, while even more coins are added scaling on the vehicle's kill count. After it was claimed, the player can chose to immediately return to main menu, or wait for 10 seconds in order for the play button to return functional and join another match. They will be kicked out of the interface if they remain idle for too long.
  • Badges are also given for win streaks and wins in general.
